Palisades + Kent + Spring Valley
The Palisades neighborhood of DC is home to smaller Colonial-style homes with a few Craftsman-style and larger estates. It sits on the Potomac River, near the Georgetown University area. Home to around 3,000 people and primarily residential, this area has a downtown district along MacArthur Blvd with a few stores and restaurants.
The neighborhood of Kent is bordered on its southeast side by sprawling Battery Kemble Park. It's an area where the urban lifestyle of DC meets greenspace. This upscale neighborhood has homes built in the 1930s and '40s, many of which are large Colonials and Craftsman-style homes.

Spring Valley, another community in this region, is a highly affluent area home to the American University campus. The stately single-family homes here are large, often spanning over 5,000 square feet. Although most are Colonials, other styles exist, including Cape Cod and Colonial Revival homes.
